Drosera Capensis Alba, aka Drosera capensis 'Albino', commonly known as the White Flower Cape Sundew, is a captivating carnivorous plant distinguished by its all-over limey green colour and striking white flowers, contrasting with the typical pink flowers of its more common relative. This variant is slightly smaller than the Typical Form of Drosera capensis but shares the same intriguing carnivorous behaviour. The long, strap-like leaves are covered in sticky dew that glistens in sunlight, attracting and ensnaring insects. Once an insect is caught, the leaves slowly curl over the prey, forming a digestive pouch that efficiently breaks down the victim over a few days. After digestion, the leaf unfurls, ready to trap anew. This plant is not only a fascinating specimen for observation but also a practical one for controlling pests.
